4th edition of World Sketchnote Day observed across the globe
On the January 11 this year, the 4th edition of World Sketchnote Day was observed that was initiated in 2016 by noted sketchnotes' creators Mike Rohde and Mauro Toselli along with some close associates by creating organisation called Sketchnote Army.

The day helps showcase sketchnotes artists and their work.  However, much work is posted and shared on the social media as was done by Delhi-based sketchnote artist Deepak Arora who by profession is a medical physicist, but has created hundreds of sketchnotes and covered conference proceedings through form of communication.

Over the years, I had been promoting sketchnoting as means of classroom instruction by following the dual code approach and put my work on 'lalitkishore31 slideshre.net'. I have used sketchnote for some of my articles on merinews.com. By making use of the visual research techniques, I have presented the overview of research topics through adapted sketchnotes combining visual codes and text codes. The visual research and sketchnoting is yet to become a mainstay method of learning and researching in our country.

"Sketchnoting is a form of visual note-taking that allows people to remember their ideas better and become a lot more creative with their notes. One of the reasons why sketchnoting is important is because, for some people, it helps them remember better what facts or ideas to know or think about later. Sketchnoting isn't just visual. It incorporates a wide arrangement of words and pictures to create memory techniques. On this holiday, people show off their notes and talk about their methods so that way people can learn from them and appreciate their work," informs Sketchnote Army  suggesting that social media be used to celebrate the day by sharing this art form and promoting it.
