Blue Whale Challenge strikes Tamil Nadu: Madurai teen commits suicide; leaves suicide note reading, 'Once you enter, you can never exit'!
Blue Whale Challenge, the fatal online game has claimed its first victim in the southern state of Tamil Nadu after a 19-year-old college student named Vignesh allegedly hung himself at his home in Mandurai on Wednesday.

Vignesh, who was a second year B.Com student at the Mannar College in Madurai was found hanging from the ceiling at around 4:15 pm.

According to his friends, Vignesh had been spending more time than usual on his phone for the past few days. The victim's friends also informed the police that they saw Vignesh attempting the deadly tasks of the Blue Whale Challenge game.

As per media reports, the police found the telling image of a whale carved on Vignesh's left forearm with a blade where the words - "Blue Whale" –written below the diagram.

Meanwhile, the police also recovered a suicide note that Vignesh wrote, which read: "Blue Whale –This is not a game but danger. Once you enter, you can never exit."

Tamil Nadu Police had recently released a circular in the State asking parents to keep a close eye on those children who were attempting the Blue Whale Challenge on their computers or phones and to monitor carefully their behaviour.

Amid reports of increasing suicide cases in India due to the Blue Whale Challenge that has invoked a serious concern in the country, the government of India on August 15 had ordered Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Yahoo and Microsoft to remove all links pertaining to the Blue Whale game with immediate effect.

The Blue Whale Challenge is an online game that comprises of around 50 tasks of fatality assigned by the administrators to the players (challengers) in order to accomplish the final mission at the last stage requiring participants to kill themselves.
