College of Vocational Studies at Delhi University observes World Tourism Day
Tourism is integral to development of any nation. Highlighting the significance of tourism sector in all realms, College of Vocational Studies (CVS) at University of Delhi observed 'World Tourism Day' on Wednesday, September 27.

The program began with lamp lightning ceremony where distinguished guests from different spheres of life came together to motivate young students who are studying various aspects of tourism.

The chief guest of the program, Shri Sudesh Verma, spokesperson BJP, addressed with reflections from his school education in Nagaland, the beauty of Indian terrain and also pointed out the dedication of Narendra Modi-led government towards development of tourism sector by launching of 'Incredible India version 2' campaign. He also inspired students to make most of their time in exploring as travelling also opens horizons of learning.

The guest of honour for the program Sunil Bhadala, veteran pracharak of RSS highlighted how 'Clean India' mission is revamping the image of the country amongst all other nations which is leading to more people wanting to visit India & thereby tourism industry has lot of impetus to grow from it.

Experts like Gaur Kanjhilal, G Mendiratta also gave guidance to students for exploring opportunities and tackling challenges in future. The Principal of the institution Dr Inderjeet Dagar also motivated the students by his words and encouraged faculty of Tourism studies.

The deliberations of the program saw the notion of 'sustainable tourism' being presented by the 'Caravan-tourism society of CVS' as theme to underscore its social, cultural, political and economic value.

The program saw a beautiful video which depicted magnanimity of Varanasi as a tourist destination followed by dance performances, singing, flute recital and other celebrations by the students. The teacher in charge Prof Kumar Ashutosh also elaborated how their college's tourism department is attaining new heights by not only imparting best of education as per industry standards but also getting 100 per cent placements for students.
