Donald Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort was wiretapped during election
Ever since Donald Trump has become the president of the United States of America, he has been involved in a fresh controversy almost every other day.

And while it cannot be said that things seem to have settled in this context, here is another news to keep up the Trump diaries. The investigative agencies of the United States have now declared that they were ordered to wiretap Paul Manafort. Manfort was Donald Trump's campaign manager at the time of the 2016 US presidential elections.

The agencies have also revealed that the wiretapping was done under secret court orders and continued to remain in place after the elections as well. The declarations were made in a report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States. The FBI is conducting a probe to ascertain whether Russia interfered in the Presidential elections of the US and if yes, to what extent was it successful.

Incidentally, Manafort had resigned from Team Trump in August 2016 and his dealings with many Russian officials and leaders have come under scanner. While the authorities are yet to confirm whether Manafort let the Russians affect the elections or not, media reports have suggested that he may actually have taken some help from Russians to make Trump's campaign stronger, and that of his rivals' weaker.

But that is not all that the investigation has been limited to. Now the investigators are also investigating whether Manafort was involved in money laundering and whether he violated tax laws.

The reports have also claimed that Manafort and Trump continued to have conversations even after Manafort was out of the campaign and that the conversations continued even after Donald Trump took oath as the President of the country.

The Russian agencies have been criticised to interfere in the elections of the United States in a manner to sway the election results in the favour of the candidate of their preference.
