Ram Rahim planned to escape after being convicted using 'red bag' as signal, reveals IGP KK Rao
Haryana's Inspector General of Police (IGP) KK Rao has made a shocking revelation about the Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, confirming that the personal commandos of rape accused Ram Rahim had planned to help him escape as soon as he stepped out of the court after being convicted, but the cops foiled the attempt.

Speaking to ANI, the IGP claimed that Baba had come with full planning on Friday, August 25.

Rao further said that Ram Rahim's 'red bag', which he had brought with himself from Sirsa, was actually used as a code to provoke and spread the violence outside the court premises after his conviction.

"We were asked to not to let the convoy, following the Dera chief, to enter the area near the court premises. Few incidents did take place during this time, if we would have not taken care, then it would have caused a lot of danger," he said.

The Inspector General of Police KK Rao while interacting with reporters said,"The Dera chief demanded the bag, saying his clothes were in it. It was actually a signal for his men to spread the news of his conviction among supporters so that they could resort to causing disturbance."

The officer said that as soon as the red bag was taken out of the SUV, sounds of tear gas shells were heard about 2-3 km from the court.

"It was then that we understood that there was some meaning behind the signal," Road added further.

Rao also discussed about another incident which made the entire police force more alert. He said that after the verdict, Ram Rahim's adopted daughter Honeypreet kept standing in the Panchkula court complex for quite a long time even after being asked not to stand there.

He said that she was just wasting the time by standing there, and it was a clear indication that they were waiting for something to happen.

"When we asked Baba to sit in the government vehicle, his personal commandos surrounded him. The DCP team, who was in charge of moving Baba from that place also had an argument with the Baba's commandos. We tried to manage the situation with talks as didn't want any kind of violence to break out there," he said.

Talking about the another problem that the police force had sensed, the IGP said that around 70-80 vehicles (part of Ram Rahim's cavalcade) were parked next to the nearby Suraj Theatre in Panchkula as it was not permitted to come near the court premises and stopped near Suraj Theater in Panchkula.

"Since the convoy of 60-70 cars was standing near the theater, we planned to take Ram Rahim from different route after the court's verdict to avoid any kind of mishap," adding that not many people from the security personnel were informed about this.

"We got a clue that he was planning to escape from the time he asked us to bring the red bag. Secondly they were just wasting time so that their supporters can take action. He was followed by 60-70 cars what were they doing there? It was needed to handle them tactfully and we did to avoid any major mishappening," he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Haryana police officer had also made a big revelation claiming that around seven private security personnel had tried to take the Dera Chief away in their vehicle after his conviction. This shocking revelation is being seen as an attempt to help Ram Rahim escape.
