Right-wingers stooped to an all time low at the henious murder of Gauri Lankesh
Arabic, Persian (Farsi) and English are the great languages of the world enriched with the widest range of words at their disposal. Arabic is the treasure of original scientific diction also.

However, India had enjoyed the historical and cultural link with Farsi language as it was the court language of Mughals. Hindi and Urdu have Amir Khusro as the prominent source and a language proponent and both the languages are intertwined. They had painted together the social, cultural and historical landscape of Mother India.

However, as Nagri Praacharni Sabha at Kashi was exploring and coining the new words to add into the already rich treasure chest of 'Hindi Shabdkosh,' a new breed of 'linguistic jokers' began to burgeon among the Right-wing brigade. An old Indian proverb goes – Someone remarked "Jat re jat, terey sir par khat (Oh the Jat, on your head a cot!). In response to the remark of oil extractor, the Jat said, "Teli re teli, terey sir par par kolhu (Oh the Oil miller, an extraction roller at your head). Teli told the Jat that his remark was not in conformance with the poetic grammar. "Who cares of grammar? Can't you see the heavy weight the kolhu carries?"

Almost the same logic prevailed when the Right-wingers, usually a motley crowd of intellectually and academically low brows, try to denigrate the liberal, secular intellectuals through new found media like internet; social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc; and TV. The compilers of Oxford dictionary must have been turning in their graves when might have come across the new verbiage or garbage like SICKULAR, ANTILECTUALS, PRESSITUDE, KHONGRESS etc. These new words reflect the decadent approach and putrid mindset. These words are wasted when these political bufoons fail to stand an argument on a genuine platform.

Here I would shed some light at the genesis of these green horns of politics and language.

The very Congress party that these anti-democracy element abuse day in and day out has given the nation all those modern amenities which later were used to turn tables against it. May be it were the mobile, internet or metros. It was during the time of Congress-led UPA II, in 2013, when more than 15 per cent of Indians were using the web. The percentage of internet users almost tripled in a period of four years between 2009 and 2013.

It was a time when the UPA government's reputation was being tarnished due to an array of corruption scandals which included the 2G spectrum, the Commonwealth Games and the allocation of coal blocks. An anti-Congress wave engulfed the nation. A large number of Indian internet users started expressing their frustration with the status quo on the web. And it was here the RSS picked up its line of thought. The politically articulate RSS minded internet users started vehemently attacking the Congress and the domestic media on the web.

After having faced a lot of abuse on social media for his liberal views, eminent historian Ramchandra Guha had pointed at the abuse which he was receiving from "BJP bhakts." In his book "Patriots and Partisans: From Nehru to Hindutva and Beyond", Guha wrote an entire chapter called "Hindutva Hate Mail" which described the threatening emails he received from all over the world whenever he wrote something on a controversial subject, whether it was Ayodhya or Muslims.

The BJP was quick to manipulate the presence of Right-wing elements and pol-vaulted beyond organizer and panchajanya. A new kind of ideology-centric journalism was invented on the web to organise and gain the support of the "internet Hindus."

In 2014, the duo of Govindarajan and Vishwanath went on to start Swarajya Mag with Swapan Dasgupta on its Editorial Advisory Board. Dasgupta is a known Right-wing commentator who was awarded the Padma Bhushan by Narendra Modi's government. The luster was lent to the new Hindutva Ideological Brigade in journalism by likes of Arun Shourie, Ashok Malik, Tavleen Singh, Madhu Kishwar and later MJ Akbar who changed his colors and joined the rising tide. What Arun Shouri declared about Narendra Modi and Co is is mockery of ideals and loyalties.

Then there were no bars, ethical, social, political, personal or historical. It was all fair in the game of politics. The article in Swarajya once called "Why can't the Pope learn to live with irreverence?" It suggested that the Pope should learn irreverence from the Hindu community. These Right-wing thinkers catered with success stories of the Gujarat model. The disgruntled authors who happened to be Twitter titans could influence their followers – who ran in the thousands believing they were the mainstream media.

The RSS Hindutva discovered or created the political honchos as ideologues who were penning articles for different portals.

And now we have come to so low that petty politics is being played over the dead bodies of social reformers and the children of Mother India.

Who was first to claim that Gauri Lankesh would have survived if she had refrained from such writings? Gauri Lankesh was like her sister as he claimed. It was no other but a BJP lawmaker and a former minister DN Jeevaraj! Jeevaraj says that Gauri Lankesh had written a report headlined, 'Chaddigala Marana Homa' (The slaughter of RSS).

Yes, till the investigation in her case does not conclude, it would be difficult to say whether she was killed by Right-wing extremists or Left-wing extremists. However, as protests and condemnation erupted over the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, the Right-wing supporters claimed that Kannada journalist-activist "deserved" what she got and also asked why the Karnataka government gave a "Naxal" supporter a state funeral.

Nikhil Dadhich, who claims to be a garment manufacturer on his Twitter profile, posted a tweet that appeared to be an abusive reference calling the slain journalist kutiya (bitch) and her mourners pilley (puppies). Dadhich's Twitter account is followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Why the Prime Minister was following the account? Later on, he was seen attending a party with Smirthi Irani. Ravish of NDTV has rightly asked if the Prime Minister of India would follow a lafanga (vaganond)? While Dadhich later deleted his tweet, and in subsequent posts claimed his earlier tweet was not in reference to Lankesh, there were many who decided to rally behind him. Akash J Dave, a member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of BJP tweeted: "#IstandWithNikhil" to "show unity" in his support.

Raj Tiwaria said: "Everyone nationalist with @nikhildadhich bhai".

Sonam Mahajan, who describes herself as a "politically aware Dogra Hindu" on Twitter, said: "Who killed Gauri Lankesh?"

"The very mindset that she endorsed. She always hailed naxal terrorists. If you live by gun, you will die by gun."

Another Twitter user Naina said: "Investigations R not yet over but Ecosystem is on overdrive to blame RSS, Bjp, Hindus. Same narrative like Hindu Terror #GauriLankeshMurder."

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri said Lankesh was his batch mate from Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), and said: "Gauri Lankesh was in my batch at IIMC. An idealist leftist. In the end, became victim of the same politics she believed in and fought for."

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tweeted his condemnation of those expressing happiness at the murder.

"I strongly condemn & deplore the messages on social media expressing happiness on the dastardly murder of #Gaurilankesh," the Minister posted.

Those who celebrate the killing of the father of nation and build temples for his killer would do any thing to prove their madness. To ask why an intellectual writer was given a state funeral is a very rudimentary query. Non compos mantis is a wider net!
