School for differently abled children celebrates Dussehra with college students in Jaipur
A group of students from Saint Xavier College in Jaipur celebrated Dussehra on September 27 with differently abled children of Disha in the city a day before of actual festival.

A drawing competition was held on the occasion and winners were given the prizes. The college students presented music items to entertain the differently abled children.

The effigy made by the craft unit of Disha was burnt and sweets were distributed to children. "The joint celebrations lead to acceptance, social development and integration of differently abled children with respect for diversity," said the visitors.

Dussehra also called as Vijaya Dashami is the festival of victory of good over evil and light over darkness. The festival is celebrated with great fervour in Nepal also.

The festival is celebrated because of two reasons. First, the festival celebrates Goddess Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura after fighting with him for nine nights.

Second, on this day Lord Rama attained victory over the arrogant king Ravana of Lanka. The message is that the tyrants may seem invincible to begin with, however, in the end, they always fall.

Dussehra Message:

Lighted lamp gives us a message –
Darkness will always be overcome by light
Here's festival of triumph of good over evil.
To tell us wrong will be undone by the right.

Happy Dussehra!
