The Eid-Ul-Fitr, a popular festival of the Muslims, is celebrated on the first day of the Shawwal, the month that comes after the month of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting in the Islamic calendar. Eid derived from an Arabic word meaning "festivity," while Fiṭr means "breaking the fast”. It is an occasion of feasting and rejoicing. On the day of Eid, Muslims gather in open areas like fields, community centers, etc. or at mosques early in the morning to perform the Eid prayer.
