In November, the Pakistan cabinet agreed to grant India the most favoured nation (MFN) status. India had granted Pakistan the most favoured nation status in 1996. After the grant of the MFN status, likely to be formalized in October 2012, Pakistan will give trade treatment to India at par with its other partners, is likely to boost bilateral economic trade, which in 2010-11 stood at $2.6 billion.
