The world's cheapest Android tablet Aakash, developed by the Indian Institute of Technology and manufactured by Quad in Hyderabad, was officially launched on October 5, in New Delhi by the HRD Minister Kapil Sibal. Aakash Tablet would be available in the market by the end of the January, 2012 at a price tag of 2500 to 3000. Aakash, the seven-inch touch screen tablet features 256 megabytes of RAM, ARM 11 processor, Android 2.2 operating system. The world's cheapest tablet Aakash supports various document, image, audio and video formats and includes an application for access to YouTube video content. Aakash commercial version, Ubislate 7, which has a 700 Mhz processor along with graphics accelerator and HD video processor, will be priced at Rs 3000 for sale online.
