Bruce Nuclear Generating Station, located on the shore of Lake Huron in Canadian city Ontario, is the second largest nuclear generating station in the world and the largest nuclear facility in North America by net electrical power rating. The first private nuclear power plant in Ontario, Canada, Bruce Nuclear Generating Station (BPGS) was constructed in phases between 1970 and 1987 by Ontario Hydro. It generates 20% of Ontario's electricity. BPGS power plant comprises two generating stations, Bruce A and Bruce B. Units 1 and 2 are currently under construction and when operational will start, the plant will generate around 6,232MW (net) of emission-free electricity. Bruce Nuclear Generating Station is the largest employer in Bruce County, with 3800 workers.
