Soviet Union: Soviet Union participated in the Summer Olympics for nine times from 1952 Helsinki Olympics to 1988 Seoul Olympics. On December 26, 1991 USSR dissolved and was divided into various other countries. In 1992, Barcelona Olympic Games, 12 of the 15 former Soviet Republics competed together as an Unified Team. The USSR hosted 1980 Olympics where many countries boycotted the event including United States. In reply USSR boycotted 1984 Los Angeles Olympic. During the nine Olympics, Soviet Union won 1010 medals including 395 Gold, 319 Silver, 296 Bronze medals. Out of nine Olympics participation, Soviet Union ranked six time number one. The USSR gymnasts, athletes and wrestlers shared 200 Gold medals.
