Northern India earthquake, 1991
This earthquake took place on 19 October 1991 in two events with a time gap of 1.6 seconds. It measured 7.0 on the Richter scale, and its effect was majorly felt in western Nepal and northeastern Pakistan. Landslides occurred around the epicentre. The earthquake destroyed nearly 18,000 buildings, killed nearly 2,000 people and injured around 1,800 people.
