It is a small sanctuary that has a fresh water lake and rest of the area is surrounded by cultivated plains. The main "salt pan", dries up in the summers but gets back to its normal state after a heavy monsoon and attracts a number of migratory birds, most of the birds that are found here are: pelicans, flamingos, ducks, geese. Sunrise over the Sultanpur lake is an experience that no one coming to Gurgaon should miss. Though, the place is open throughout the year, the best time to visit remains to be between November to February and March to April, if blessed with good rain.
