Tongba or Chhang (hot beer) is a popular drink in Ladakh and North-East. This indispensable barley based alcoholic beverages has its own position in a list of famous liquor which is consumed by the people for centuries. Tonga is served in bamboo tumbler using straw, here the main ingredient is the fermented seed. It is consumed by adding boiling water in the fermented seed. Whereas, Chhang is a energy drink and full of nutritions and can easily quench anyone's thirst. It is made of fermented Barley and Millet, with time the rich taste of this beverage increases like anything. It take minimum 7-10 days and even can go on varying periods for its stronger taste.
